The Spring issue of Gifted Child Today has an article about the 2008 pilot of “Gifted Kids Network”. This web-based programming model integrates technology and is specifically for gifted kids. In exploring the site, I came across their summer programs, which include an online summer course designing a Virtual Zoo, and book clubs. Students use online wikis and blogs to communicate, and the whole class is done online. It may sound complicated, but if you have high-speed internet and a microphone, you can do it!
Check out the finished projects from last year – they’re incredible.
